Automatic Wooden Gate Installed in Hitchin, Hertfordshire
After installing automation to our clients front entrance, we were asked to supply & install gates and automation to the stable entrance at the rear of the property. Our client requested the gates were closed-boarded to give as much privacy as possible to the stable entrance.
We removed the existing wooden gate posts and 5-bar wooden gate and installed taller gate posts to accomodate the larger closed-boarded wooden gates. We used the Bradden design gates from HFS Timber in Northampton. Due to the potential wind loading on the gates we supplied and installed the 24v surface mounted gate automation system comprising of two 24v electromechanical operators, one 24v control board, two infrared safety photocell beams, and twelve radio transmitter key fobs. When broken, the infrared safety photocell beams prevent the gates from opening or closing onto a vehicle. These gate safety features combined with obstacle detection to automatically reverse gate travel when an object is contacted ensures that the gates are safe and comply with the appropriate EU and British standards. We will also install battery back up to provide continuous operation during power cuts. All of our systems incorporate a simple key manual override to allow access should you have prolonged power cuts. All control boxes were discretely positioned within the bin store out of sight.
Access is controlled via hand held remote controls and entry & exit keypads. A standalone digital keypad is widely used as a means for regular trusted visitors and tradesmen to enter and leave a site. It allows control of the gates with the use of a four-digit code when a radio transmitter is not to hand. The keypad can have two codes in operation for either control of the gate or a second system.
