Safety & Security

You would think that in most circumstances anyone looking to install any kind of barrier or gate is doing so to improve security or to try to monitor & control access. Why then do we see properties whose gates or barriers are left wide open and unattended for long periods of time? Any crime prevention officer will tell you that this is seen by criminals as sign that the property is open to theft, vandalism and unwanted visitors. The answer is that many property owners just don't realise how vulnerable their property is until its too late and they have become another crime statistic.

Its our belief that a fundamental part to any security system is the installation of automatic electric gates or barriers. This means that the entrance to the property is closed off virtually all the time sending a clear signal that access is monitored and controlled. However automatic gates need to be set up so they are convenient for people to use. There are many devices covering just about every conceivable situation, from simple handheld key fobs through to sophisticated intercom and camera systems that allow you to see and talk to visitors. Its important that you get proper advice so that all such equipment is integrated to work effectively and that you are clearly aware of the legal and safety aspects that such work entails. Lastly but not least you want an entrance that looks the part.

This is where we come in. Our first point of contact is to offer no hassle, free and friendly advice starting with a site visit. We will be able to show you a range of gates that can be made from steel, wrought iron, soft wood or hard woods such as Oak. Then we will explain the various merits of swing gates, sliding gates or cantilever gates and the types of electric gate motors that can be used to power them. Once you have decided what kind of automatic gate you want we can then advise you about access control equipment such as key fobs, keypads, intercoms & induction loops etc.

‘Part P’ legislation requires that all new electrical installations outside of the house require notification to building control and if not carried out by a qualified competent person, an independent inspection. Additionally we have invested in the new Microtronics Blue Force Door Closure Tester which allows us to comprehensively check and certify that the anti-crush features of the equipment that we fit are operating within the correct safety parameters required to conform to industry standards.
